Excellent progress to report:
The location and time have been set, according to Christopher Phillips, as the library at the Alumni Association, 5555 S. Woodlawn from 5:30-6:30 on Saturday. Light refreshments are to be offered. Thank you for that effort, Christopher.
Frances Vandervoort, '57 invited Dean of the College, John Boyer, to attend and he has accepted.
An invitation will be mailed to emeriti shortly after the mailing of the overall Reunion registration packet.
An 'outreach' by telephone to all 187 '54-'57 emeriti living in the greater Chicago area is being initiated to make personal contact and invite to attend. Christopher will co-ordinate the effort but he needs volunteers for it to be successful. This would also be an opportune time to call your emeriti friends living outside the area as well.
I hope this event will prove successful and establish a precedent for other subset years of the Emerti to gather at future reunions. Ralph Apton has expressed an interest in bringing together the '49-'53 cohort in 2012.
